Things change. That’s not breaking news. Adaptability is the grease that keeps people, workplaces, entire societies running smoothly—or as smoothly as possible—in the midst of change. If the dinosaurs could have adapted better and faster, they might still be thundering around in all their glory. Go, T-Rex.
A few short years ago, we had the highest unemployment seen in the lifetime of all but the elderly. Today, our unemployment lounges at almost historic lows, depending on locale and situation. Some communities are at, or below, historic lows; others continue to be higher. But on average, it’s a buyer’s market for employment, which is the opposite of what it was less than a decade ago.
