The Amazon Rainforest, also known as Amazon Jungle or Amazonia, is not just the one of the oldest (over 55 million years) existing rainforests but also home to the world’s largest biodiversity.

Located in the Amazon Basin of South America, it is spread over nine nations including a large part of Brazil and houses over 40,000 different plant species.

It is often referred to as the ‘Lungs of the Planet’, accounting for more than 20% of world’s oxygen supply through the continuous recycling of carbon dioxide into oxygen by its formidable treasure of natural resources and vegetation.
