What was the original name of Frisbee?

Frisbee was formerly known as “Pluto Platter.” The flying disc was discovered by Morrison, and the “Wham-O,” toy manufacturing company, purchased the idea from Morrison in 1957. Wham-O changed the name of the Pluto Platter to Frisbee after college students in New England started calling it with the later name. The name Frisbee came out of the local bakery, the Frisbie Pie Co, whose empty tins were tossed like the Frisbee.
